It's almost summer! The days are longer, the weather is warmer and if your kids are anything like ours, they are spending more and more time outside.
For an unconventional afternoon, make Chalk Bombs! Fair warning, they are messy and you will want to do this outdoors, but the enjoyment your little ones will get will be worth the colorful mess awaiting you.
Here's what you'll need:
Jar with a Lid
Pump Bottle
Water
Cornstarch
Food Coloring
Water Balloons
Step 1: Mix two cups of water with 5 tablespoons of cornstarch. Put the lid on your jar and shake it up! I used a pint sized mason jar that holds two cups of liquid, so I just filled it up to just under the bottom of the rim. Make as many cornstarch and water jars as you would like for all your colors!
Step 2: Now it’s time to add your food coloring! Add as many drops of food coloring as you would like. The more food dye, the more saturated the colors.
Step 3: Transfer one of the colors to a pump bottle and start filling the balloons. This part can be a bit tricky! Make sure you hold the balloon opening tight around the nozzle.
Step 4: Draw targets on the ground with chalk or just let them go wild.
Step 5: Hose it all off!
